We are seeking a Part-time Bookkeeper/ Administrative Assistant at Pinecrest ARP Church.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and performing various accounting tasks.
As an Administrative Assistant, you are often the first impression of our church. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial concepts, is proficient in bookkeeping software, and has excellent communication and customer service skills.
Duties
- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Serve as principal point of contact for church officers and church members, both in person and by telephone/email, on church-related matters and to assist them administratively in matters for which they have responsibilities.
- Prepare church bulletin each week and on special occasions; copy, collate and fold for Sunday. Include any inserts as required
- Prepare church newsletter each month; serve as editor, collect articles, design layout, and distribute by mail/email
- Maintain formal church files to include meeting minutes and correspondence, standing committee records and correspondence, and
individual and general personnel matters - Maintain church calendar and manage requests for facility use
- Maintain church membership records
Qualifications:
- At least two years bookkeeping experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
- Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Schedule:
- Tuesday through Friday – 20 hours per week; some flexibility in exact hours per day
