Rhett Carson
Pastor
Rhett has served as the senior pastor at Pinecrest Church since 2012. He grew up in the Carolinas spending his childhood in Due West, SC and his teenage years in Gastonia, NC. He grew up with fond memories of the Flat Rock area by spending a lot of time at the Bonclarken Conference Center with his family and at camps. Rhett graduated from Erskine College and Reformed Theological Seminary- Orlando. Before moving to Flat Rock, Rhett worked with children and youth at churches in Troutman, NC and in Atlanta, GA. Rhett and his wife Kathy have five children: Eben, Emily Jane, Marie, JohnE, and Katie Jo. He is always up for eating a good meal, spending time with family and friends, talking with others about God and His word, and sharing a good joke.
Mike Hicks
Youth Ministry Coordinator
Mike has served with our youth ministries at Pinecrest since February 2014. He grew up in Pinckney, Michigan where he learned about the Lords love. His grandparents were members of Pinecrest and he would visit this church as a young man. Mike moved to Flat Rock after getting out of the Marines in 2014. He has an Associates degree in Criminal Justice. Mike enjoys studying Gods word, riding his motorcycle and running with his dog Esther.
Kathy Carson
Technology Specialist
Kathy has served in technology at Pinecrest since 2020. Since her dad was an Air Force computer technician, she moved frequently growing up but calls Sumter, SC her hometown. In 2002, Kathy graduated from Erkine College with a degree in Elementary Education, married Rhett Carson, and taught Kindergarten while Rhett went to seminary. In 2005, they started their family and now have 5 children: Eben, Emily Jane, Marie, JohnE, and Katie Jo. Kathy enjoys watching sunsets, eating chocolate, listening to music, creating digital art and crafting of all kinds.
Judy Roberts Fredrick
Pianist
Judy has served as pianist and choir director at Pinecrest Church since moving to Hendersonville in 2011. Judy loves music. Prior to coming to North Carolina she served as organist/choir director for seven years at the First United Methodist Church in Middletown, CT. She also taught middle and high school English in Newington, CT.
Melody Burrell
Secretary
Melody began her employment at Pinecrest Church in February 2017. She is an Asheville native who has lived in the area all her life. Prior to her employment at Pinecrest, Melody worked most recently as the Office Manager at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest, SC and as Financial Administrator at Kenmure Country Club. When not working, Melody likes to bake, read, and spend time with family and friends.
